QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q. What is safe environment training?
A. Safe environment training for adults includes a background check, code of conduct and a workshop; all of which help to ensure that adults are trustworthy and capable of working with children.
Creating a safe environment also means aiding youth in being aware of what is safe and what they can do to keep themselves safe. Each Religious Education class utilizes the Circle of Grace program to this end.
The objectives for the program may be obtained here.
Q. Who is required to be safe environment trained?
A. Adults and youth who are working for or volunteering at the parish and working with youth of any age.
Q. Why do we require safe environment training?
A. Safe environment training is required because we care about our youth.
Ensuring that volunteers are safe environment trained increases awareness so that adults are equipped to prevent as well as quickly and apporpriately respond to situations that may pose a threat to children.
Q. How can I become safe environment trained?
A. Safe environment training dates are scheduled at regular intervals. Upoming dates include the following: August 2016
